Six Sigma and lean manufacturing has always been about getting your company, business or organization to run as efficiently and profitably as possible. But in order to do that you need your employees to be able to fit with what you are trying to do and you need them to buy into the program so that it will keep moving the company forward.

It can be hard to do that with current staff, often creating issues if management is unable to explain well enough why modifications are needed. Communication is always a significant part of getting any new idea or program ready to go. Employee turnover is also a big component of waste in a company. How much time does it take to process a new employee and how long does it take to prepare them and to have them running up to speed with the employees which are currently running at full capacity?

This can be a lengthy and demanding process that costs a lot of money. So if you are implementing or using other Six Sigma methods and ideas in your company, wouldn't it be a smart idea to utilize those same tactics whenever hiring a new member of staff? How much time would you save and how much money would you save if you took a bit more time in hiring a member of staff and doing more background checks and being sure that they were going to fit?

The vetting process does take time, and even if you have to wait a little more time before the employee can start work or perhaps a little more funds are put in the process of finding that perfect worker, wouldn't it be worth it if they stuck around making a career out of the job. Long time staff are always more valuable, especially if they are trained properly from the start and taught the appropriate way of doing their job through a thorough personnel training process with rewards and value.

These extra steps taken to ensure better that the employee you hire will fit in with your company and will stay working for you will ultimately pay off because you will not need to find a replacement in six months or a year. You will have time to develop the employee to fit the methods of the company and learn the company philosophy and grow and achieve with the company instead of being frustrated because it is not what they thought it would be or something didn't fit quite right.

Research for yourself what Six sigma certification means. There is no end to the great things that Six sigma training can do for you.
