Join The Real World And Turn Off The Cell Phone

Is there anything more annoying than that person standing ni front of you in a grocery store or checkout line babbling away on a cell phone while a kind salesperson is trying to help them? The cell phone person nods and points directions at the clerk while enjoying a riveting conversation over nothing. There is nothing more annoying and we won't even discuss people who miss green lights because of their nonsensical cell phone ramblings.

Wouldn't it be nice if cell phones were used only for emergencies or at least in private so we didn't have to hear their chatter? It's not just the cell phones. People walk around in a daze staring at their cell phones, twittering and texting. You can find a pack of teenagers who should be having fun together and all of them are staring mindlessly into their phone. There's a really big reason why kids can't communicate with each other on a face-to-face basis anymore. Wait until their first job interview when they have to look someone in the face.

Think about how reliant you are to these devices and think about how reliant everybody else is. You can't go anywhere, the store, the mall, even on vacation without seeing hordes of people looking down at their phones or portable devices while they are walking round. You see it everywhere, with people and Bluetooth headsets and any other kind of fancy gear that you can think about.

What are these people doing that is so important? Probably most of them are not, they are just keeping in touch with a friend or keeping themselves entertained. Nothing is so important that you have to talk or text at every waking moment of everyday. It is so much stimulation and so much contact that you might even think that it could be unhealthy.

Everybody needs some time to themselves and nothing short of an emergency is worth so much that it can't wait a few hours. If you check your Facebook pages, chances are that 99 percent of the messages are just gibberish being written by people with nothing better to do. Take some time away from technology and enjoy life.
