When a person does not work to replace the lost muscle mass the composition of the body will adjust. It becomes more fat than muscle and that is where the trouble is. The muscles are what burn calories and without it eating the same food as always will mean increasingly more weight gained. The positive effects of exercising more instead of less are too strong to ignore.
