Plastic surgery has become a growing trend in our society but is it ever really a good idea? Some will boast that it is necessary for them to improve their self esteem while others claim that there is some medical necessity for having this type of surgery, however when you look at most plastic surgery it usually isn't as successful as the person is hoping for and many people become permanently disfigured by these somewhat routine outpatient procedures.

Many stars have plastic surgery with the most common plastic surgery procedures being those of breast implants, breast reduction, nose jobs, and botox but these days stars are not the only ones who are getting nipped and tucked and the trend that is occurring has preteens and teens going under the knife to make themselves look more pleasing. Unfortunately, the trend of having more people getting surgery unnecessarily is increasing the number of deaths from these types of surgeries and even in the best case scenarios where trained professionals are doing everything by the book and everything goes off without a hitch, still many people walk away from plastic surgery less than happy with the changes they have had made.

Anyone considering plastic surgery, especially to the face area, will most likely be stuck with the results. If your personal expectations are not realized, additional surgeries can cause additional scarring build up and become more troublesome and could really change your appearance for the worse or turn out to be something totally unexpected. The face is a very delicate area and changes could be permanently. Insecurities also must be considered, especially as you age, the surgery might not age so gracefully.

Unless there are severe disfigurement issue due to a vehicle accident, injury or a birth defect, most insurance companies will not pay for these cosmetic procedures, due mostly to the steep cost of the surgeries. Never assume that only the rich are getting these procedures done. Research shows that the numbers are mostly middle class citizens, who as some cases indicate have saved for years and have kept the obsessive fires burning until they have the surgery for what they perceive to be huge problem areas, which in reality are not necessary at all.

It is only human to want to look and feel the best that you can, but the Constancy of trying to change superficially your physical imperfections should take a back seat to making internal changes first. Being comfortable and confident with who you really are, is more defining to the real person than the other shell looks. The sad truth is that all the perfect plastic surgery will never change what is really in need of being changed.
